Enough With the Seizing

Friction Of The Day.....

Woke up this morning and as usual I checked on my Facebook account. Just the normal stuff, friends talking about their day when all of the sudden a post appeared wanting me to sign a petition to seize BP oil company. My first thought was, this is a joke right? No! Apparently a lot of ignorant people actually wants the government to seize the company.

First, BP created this mess! They are the experts at retrieving oil at  un-Godly depths. So let the experts repair this well.

Second, the government has only two expertise. One is killing people, the other is spending OPM(spending other peoples money).

Seizing BP would have no effect on capping the well or of making drilling any safer. Period.

Now get back to posting your day on Facebook and leave the experts alone.

Where O' Where Are You?

Friction of the Day....

Looks like big brother is here. In Australia the government is scanning all the drivers licenses into a computer so they can use facial recongnition software. With so many security cameras they hope to find criminals faster. Is this a good thing or not? Should the government be allowed to capture all the citizens pictures?

The Racism Smear

If the crowd is overwhelmingly white, it's not because tea partiers have a problem with people of color. It's because so many people of color have a problem with limited government.

Spend, Spend and Spend for retirement

Friction Of The Day...

We are trying to rob our children and grandchildren, putting the country's future at risk in the process. On one of the great issues of our time, the social and economic costs of our retirement, we have adopted a policy of selfish silence. continued...

Nice Job If You Can Get It

Friction Of The Day...

My dad always said work smarter not harder and the newly elected Democrats have taken that to heart. While most Americans will start their work week on Monday morning the House can wait til Tuesday AT 3 in the afternoon!

Why? A Football game!

After A Year Off, It's Time To Get Going Again!

The last year has been tough! We lost my sister, Kyle Koob, one of our best friends, Les Covington and Tom, my wifes cousin.

So now after a long year it is time to start up again.

Friction Of The Day...

I call it the 180 degree Syndrome, when apparently smart people, especially professors and journalists, get their premises wrong. Here is a snippet from an article about "freegans".

THE Thanksgiving holiday is over and the frenzied Christmas shopping season has begun. This is bonanza time for the tribe of rummaging Americans known as "freegans".

The anti-capitalist freegans - the name combines "free" and "vegan" - are so appalled by the waste of the consumer society that they try to live on the leftovers, scavenging for food in supermarket dustbins.

"It's fun. It's a thrill. It's more fun and more satisfying than just going to the store and saying, 'I wanted some bread and I got it'. It's the surprise - and the prize," said Janet Kalish, a New York high school teacher who describes herself as "60 per cent freegan".

"The No 1 problem is that Americans have lost touch with what food is for," Professor Jones said. "We have lost touch with the processes that bring it to the table and we don’t notice the inefficiency."

Did you catch it? Professor Jones says capitalism is so inefficient that we produce too much! Capitalism is so inefficient that freegans can live out of garbage cans! That capitalism is so inefficient that Professor Jones can make a living complaining about it! He's 180 Degress out.

End Poverty, Promote Capitalism...

As they say, "It's Deja Vu all over again!". As we have seen over the last 120 years almost on a predicted schedule a congressional dog and pony show was on display in Washington yesterday. It was the Republicans apologizing for capitalism and the Democrats seething to abolish it! And what was worst is the oil executives having to explain their right to make a profit.

One line could have summed it up if only someone had the balls to utter, "Mister Senator, the day you admit that a 33 percent tax rate is excessive taxation will be the day I admit a 9.8 percent profit margin is excessive profits!".

Who is John Galt?
